Family

Parents Ashley & Chris and big sister Sloane, are Al’s immediate family. They are the ones rallying around Al through all the surgeries and therapy and day-to-day stuff that make up his world. They committed soon after Alexander was born to go anywhere and do anything to get Al the help, therapy and support he needs to not just live, but to have a meaningful life.

But if family is the people who stand by you and support you and do anything they can to help you succeed, then Al’s family is much, much bigger than that. Alexander’s grandparents are very much a part of his daily life and willing to do anything to help. And he has aunties, uncles, cousins, second cousins, neighbours and a whole bunch of friends that are around so much they feel like family. With each new volunteer and each new therapy, his family extends even further. And how many kids can say they have their own board of directors?
